Job Summary

The Sr Manager, Development leads and develops a Europe-based team of software developers within Deltek’s global Technical Center of Excellence (COE). This role fosters a positive, collaborative culture focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement, while ensuring alignment with global standards and participating in cross-regional initiatives. The Sr Manager supports ongoing COE transformation, drives adoption of standard development practices, and champions the integration of AI tools into the development lifecycle.

As a people-first leader, this position is responsible for coaching, performance development, and career growth of team members, while partnering closely with global COE leaders to deliver successful customer and internal development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a Europe-based team of developers, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.
  • Ensure alignment with global standards and participate in cross-regional initiatives within a 100+ employee development organization.
  • Support COE transformation by guiding the team through new structures, processes, and tools.
  • Drive adoption of standard development practices, including coding standards, quality controls, and documentation.
  • Act as a people-first leader, providing regular coaching, performance development, and career growth opportunities.
  • Partner with global COE leaders to execute strategy and contribute to process, tooling, and delivery improvements.
  • Ensure successful delivery of customer and internal development initiatives by managing priorities and removing blockers.
  • Promote innovation and continuous learning, identifying opportunities for workflow streamlining, automation, and emerging technologies.
  • Pilot and champion the use of AI tools in the development lifecycle, encouraging experimentation and safe adoption.
  • Champion change management, clearly communicating expectations and supporting staff through transitions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Professional Services delivery teams, and other COE leaders for smooth execution of shared initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of experience leading technical or software development teams, preferably in Professional Services, product development, or engineering environments.
  • Strong people leadership skills with a proven ability to build high-performing teams and develop talent.
  • Experience managing organizational change or transformation, providing clarity and motivation during transitions.
  • Solid understanding of modern software development practices (coding standards, version control, CI/CD, peer review, quality frameworks).
