Mechanical Field Service Engineer – United Utilities

• Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical assets and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults efficiently, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
• Install, replace and commission mechanical components, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.
• Complete service documentation accurately, including job sheets, reports and parts usage.
• Work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams including electrical engineers, site operators and contractors.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback on recurring issues, asset condition and maintenance strategies.
• Manage workload and travel schedule to respond to service calls and site visits across designated areas.

• Time‑served apprentice or equivalent, with academic qualifications to at least NVQ level 3.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Relevant industry experience.
• Ability to work independently, in a team and sometimes in confined spaces.
• Willingness to diversify into specialised areas such as chlorine gas systems.
• Strong diagnostic, organisational, planning, communication and computer skills.
