A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Streatham is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team through our agency. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children who require additional guidance with behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning. Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral team, you will provide targeted support for pupils who may present with behavioural challenges, social-emotional needs, or difficulties accessing the curriculum in a mainstream classroom.
This role would suit someone with experience supporting children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), behaviour support, or those with backgrounds in youth work, psychology, mentoring, or pastoral care.
- Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support for pupils across the primary age range
- Implement behaviour strategies and positive reinforcement techniques to support engagement
- Help pupils develop self-regulation, resilience, and social skills
- Support the teacher in maintaining a calm and structured learning environment
- Work closely with the school's SENCO and pastoral team to implement behaviour plans
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils who may find school challenging
- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs or SEMH
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to motivate pupils
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable or disengaged learners
- Experience in schools, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or support work is highly desirable
