About the Role

As the Receptionist at the DAF Apprentice Academy
, you'll be the first friendly face our learners, employers and visitors meet. You'll keep the centre running smoothly, supporting facilities, handling enquiries, coordinating administration and helping ensure our learners experience is nothing short of excellent. Every day is different, and your work will directly contribute to the success, safety and professionalism of our national training centre.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Welcoming learners, employers, staff and visitors with professionalism and warmth.
  • Managing all incoming enquiries via phone, email and live chat.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness, stock levels and general presentation of the centre.
  • Supporting learners with duty‑of‑care calls and issuing , lanyards and college wear.
  • Completing essential administrative tasks, including registers, reports and updating databases.
  • Coordinating logistics such as lunch numbers, stationery and facilities orders.
  • Maintaining centre records for audits (fire logs, first aid logs, etc.).
  • Assisting with course bookings, issuing joining instructions and preparing materials.
  • Supporting the Centre Manager with day‑to‑day operational needs.
  • Completing First Aid and Fire Marshal training to support centre safety.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience in a busy administrative or receptionist role.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and multitasking skills.
  • Strong MS Office and IT skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to new processes.
  • A positive, professional and proactive approach.
Desirable
  • Understanding of apprenticeships, ESFA or Ofsted requirements.
  • Experience in facilities or office management procedures.

  • Maintain confidentiality: we will only share private and sensitive information about a learner when it is in the best interests to do so, e.g., if there is a safeguarding concern.
