At TP Tutors
, we are expanding across Dorset and are seeking dedicated, empathetic SEN Tutors to deliver high-quality 1:1 and small group tuition to children and young people with additional needs.

This is more than tutoring - it's rebuilding confidence, restoring engagement, and transforming futures.

Role

Role: SEN Tutor (1:1 & Specialist Support)

Location

Location: Dorset - learner homes / community settings / flexible delivery

Hours

Hours: Flexible - Part-Time or Full-Time

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging sessions aligned with EHCP targets
  • Support learners with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and other additional needs
  • Assess starting points and create structured progression pathways
  • Re-engage pupils outside mainstream education
  • Use adaptive, therapeutic‑informed teaching strategies
  • Build trusting relationships that nurture emotional wellbeing
  • Provide consistent progress updates to families and professionals

Your work will help young people rediscover belief in themselves and develop a positive relationship with learning.

Qualifications
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
  • Strong understanding of inclusive and differentiated teaching
  • Experience with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
