Overview
The University of Nottingham School of Medicine is seeking two Clinical Curriculum Fellows to support the delivery of the clinical components across the undergraduate medicine course, including the three clinical hubs, and to support the development of a new medical curriculum to be launched in 2026.
You will work alongside colleagues from the School of Medicine Education Centre to develop and support the successful delivery of centralised teaching resources related to the clinical components of the curriculum for medical students in early years, engage in the teaching of clinical skills during medical students’ clinical placements, develop and deliver online lectures to large groups of students as well as undertake some smaller seminar-based teaching, and coordinate and guide students through teaching resources available on the virtual learning environment (Moodle).
You will also provide training for clinical supervisors within the NHS Trusts, in collaboration with other faculty members. Your duties will include supporting the administration of the BMBS Clinical Medicine Course. The role provides an opportunity to gain experience and training in medical education, with formal provision in the role for research or postgraduate studies in medical education.
You should hold an MBBS or equivalent qualification, be GMC registered with a license to practice and holder of a UK national Training Number at ST3 level or equivalent.
You should be able to design course materials. You should have oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clarity on complex ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers, using high level skills and a range of media.
You should have a high level analytical capability to facilitate conceptual thinking, innovation, and creativity; the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others; ability to engage and retain the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them to learn; ability to assess and organise resource requirements and deploy them effectively; and capacity to work co-operatively with others and demonstrate leadership when appropriate.
You should have an understanding of key concepts in undergraduate and postgraduate education; experience in an undergraduate and/or postgraduate educational setting; knowledge of teaching methods and techniques; and practical experience of application of teaching skills and techniques.

This is a fixed-term position for two years from the start date. Your working hours will be 38.5 hours per week.
