The School of Life Sciences (SoLS), University of Nottingham seeks to make a permanent teaching and curriculum leadership appointment of an Assistant Professor in Biomedical Sciences.
About the RoleWe are looking for an outstanding educator and scientist, with an ambitious vision, who is passionate about teaching and has a collegial attitude. Your teaching will encompass a range of areas within human physiology, nutrition, anatomy and pathology or data analysis and bioinformatics and will be delivered to students at all levels on the Biomedical Sciences degrees (BSc and MSci) and other related degrees.
Responsibilities- Deliver teaching and assessment across the Biomedical Sciences curriculum.
- Lead modules and contribute to curriculum development.
- Engage in academic leadership within Higher Education (module leadership, assessments, admissions).
- Contribute to innovative and inclusive teaching practices and participate in pedagogical scholarship.
- Support the development of teaching practice for all academic staff.
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant biomedical sciences subject area.
- Successful track record of achievement in education.
- Experience delivering teaching and assessment in higher education within Biomedical Sciences.
- Experience of academic leadership and commitment to high‑quality, innovative, inclusive teaching.
- A full‑time (36.25 hours per week) permanent position, with potential job‑share arrangements.
