Therapeutic Practitioner

Position: Therapeutic Practitioner (Permanent)
Location: Nottinghamshire

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Therapeutic Practitioner to join our Alternative Provision on a full-time, temporary to permanent basis.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs/additional needs and/or challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver therapeutic and emotional support interventions for pupils

Work closely with teaching staff, SEND professionals and families to create personalised support plans

Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote emotional regulation, engagement and progress

Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews, reports and safeguarding processes

Support behaviour regulation and de-escalation using restorative and therapeutic approaches

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience working therapeutically with children or young people, ideally within alternative provision, SEND or SEMH settings

Training or experience in ELSA, counselling, play therapy, psychology, mental health support, or similar therapeutic frameworks

Strong communication, empathy and relationship-building skills

A calm, resilient and reflective approach to supporting vulnerable learners

An enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
