SEND Teaching Assistant; Personal Care

Overview

Teacher Active is proud to be working with a SEND school in Leicester LE3, supporting their recruitment for a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA. The setting is centred on pupil development, with an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and in emotional, social and behavioural skills. The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role, with potential for a long-term placement for the right SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA.

The successful candidate will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children’s individual needs, and have a positive impact on the wider school. You must be comfortable and confident in providing Personal Care to service users.

• Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months experience in an educational establishment
• A calm, patient and caring personal approach
• Experience with personal care
• Good communication skills
• A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis

Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced Child and Adult DBS disclosure and provide at least 2 references
