Apprentice Sports Coach

Main Duties

Teaching sport and physical activities to children and young people, both in school curriculum time following the PE National Curriculum and/or set programs of study and also deliver a range of OSHL, (Out Of School Hours Learning) extracurricular activities before school, at lunch times, after school and in school holiday periods. Improving child development and fitness through high delivery standards. Successful candidates would also be expected to deliver and support wrap around clubs in the mornings before school and after school.

• Impacting the fitness of young people through sport and dance curricular and extra‑curricular activities
• Staffing structure which allows career progressions into designated roles
• Official delivery partner for British Gymnastics, England Hockey, British Fencing and England Lacrosse, with ongoing certificated courses running for Premier staff to qualify in the teaching of these sports
• Ongoing in‑house training to improve delivery standards and the quality of PE teaching

• Level 3 and Level 2 options for apprenticeship qualifications
• Additional qualifications include three level 2 qualifications specific to teaching young people
• Funded NGB qualifications for specific sports
• A team of senior members of staff dedicated to supporting development of apprentices

• To plan and deliver a range of innovative coaching sessions
• To set up and deliver high quality sports/dance teaching to young people
• Develop and inspire young people to live and lead active and healthy lifestyles, improving fitness
• To teach lessons in line with Ofsted criteria and the PE national curriculum

• Own transport as you will be required to travel to a variety of schools
• Self motivated and have a passion for teaching/coaching sport and/or dance
• Previous experience in a school environment would be highly beneficial
• Be able to pass an enhanced DBS check and deemed safe to work with children
