Overview

We are looking for a forward thinking individual to join our department as Specialist Anaesthetist in Anaesthesia.

• Manage patients admitted under your care and work with Consultant colleagues to provide comprehensive elective and emergency anaesthetic services.
• Provide resident, emergency, out‑of‑hours cover as detailed in the indicative job plan.
• Cover weekend and resident duty to the Trauma Orthopaedics theatre and support the resident team of two Consultants, two Specialist trainees and a Core Trainee.
• Work with the department to provide reciprocal cover during periods of leave and take all leave in accordance with the relevant overarching trust policies.

The Anaesthetic Department operates across the two campuses of NUH, with close links to the Nottingham and East Midlands School of Anaesthesia and the University Department of Anaesthesia, Nottingham University. The department is integrated with Critical Care and Pain Management Services and supports a significant acute surgical workload.

Mr Ayan Banerjea is the Clinical Director of Care Group 2 (Surgery & Associated Services), and Dr Hannah Sycamore is the Directorate Head of Clinical Services for Theatres, Anaesthesia & Perioperative Care. Dr Sumera Hussain (City Campus) and Dr Chris Harber (QMC Campus) are the Heads of Service.
