Job Description
ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY TECHNICIAN –
Required:
April – Minimum three days per week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday).
NJC Level 2A (points 3-4), from £13,129 to £13,335 per annum for 22.5 hours per week term‑time, plus 22.5 hours outside term‑time (based on a full‑time salary of £24,796 to £25,185).
Hours to be worked over three days per week, 9:00 am–3:30 pm.
Responsibilities- Provide technician support to staff and students.
- Prepare and maintain practical resources and equipment.
- Order stock and assist teachers in the classrooms.
The role requires commitment, resourcefulness and flexibility, working as part of a team while using your own initiative.
Department OverviewThe art and photography department offers GCSE art and photography at KS4, A level art and A level photography ilities include an open‑plan thoroughfare, individual teacher rooms, a project and printmaking room with a printing press, a dedicated sixth‑form studio, an ICT suite with Photoshop Elements, a teachers’ office, a technician’s prep/store room and a photographic darkroom. The department also has silkscreen printing and photo‑stencil facilities.
Every summer we hold a popular art exhibition, showcasing high‑quality displays of student artwork.
Students have two art lessons per fortnight in Year 9, and they receive a well‑regulated curriculum. Vandyke students are proud, articulate ambassadors for the school and achieve well, thriving thanks to the school’s ambition for all students to become world‑ready citizens.
Students are confident, courteous, aspirational, behave well and respect themselves and others. Our recent OFSTED visit highlighted these qualities. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
