This is a full‑time, permanent opportunity for someone who has progressed from the tools into site management and is now looking to apply their technical expertise in a quality‑focused, client‑side environment. The Team:
Our client is a well‑established construction consultancy offering quantity surveying, employer's agent, project management, Clerk of Works and advisory services. With around 75% of their turnover generated through affordable housing delivery, they are a trusted partner to housing associations, registered providers and developers across the region. Their team is known for its technical expertise, collaborative approach and commitment to delivering high‑quality homes.
With a strong pipeline of repeat business and long‑standing client relationships, they offer a stable and supportive environment with clear opportunities for progression.
- Carrying out regular site inspections to monitor build quality, compliance and adherence to specifications.
- Identifying defects, reporting issues promptly and ensuring corrective actions are completed to a high standard.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documents to ensure works are delivered in line with client expectations.
- Providing clear, accurate and timely reports to clients, highlighting progress, risks and areas requiring attention.
- Building strong working relationships with site teams, contractors and client representatives.
- Supporting the delivery of affordable housing schemes by ensuring homes meet required standards, regulations and employer's requirements.
- Acting as a trusted technical advisor, using your practical background to challenge workmanship where necessary.
- Contributing to continuous improvement across the consultancy's Clerk of Works service.
- A background working on residential construction sites, ideally progressing from the tools into site management.
- Strong technical knowledge of materials, trades, construction methods and quality standards.
- Experience delivering or overseeing housing projects, with an understanding of affordable housing requirements.
- Confidence in identifying defects, challenging workmanship and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple schemes simultaneously.
- A genuine passion for improving build quality and ensuring homes are delivered safely and compliantly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
