Job Title Electrical Estimator

Reporting to Lead Estimator

Depot Podington, Northamptonshire or Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham

You will be responsible for determining the total cost of a construction project before work commences. You will become involved in projects in the early stages covering everything from materials, labour, equipment hire, transport costs and everything in between. You will be fundamental to the business winning projects and achieving turnover and profitability. Know customer needs and consider customer impact during all stages of work.

• Understanding client needs
• Consider and value the diverse needs of customers at all stages of your work processes
• Preparation of tenders for projects including obtaining sub-contract prices
• Continuous management of key tenders
• Take offs and measurement from design documents
• Developing programmes with the Planning Team
• Interpreting contract specifications
• Liaising with the Commercial Team to agree contracts
• Monitoring the stages of a project to make sure that costs are kept in line with forecasts
• Completion of tender review for all estimates
• Preparing and submitting quotations for work Helping with bids for new contracts and supporting buying activities
• Gathering quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers
• Completion of tender handovers for contracts awarded
• Researching materials, equipment, and labour costs.
• Review and provide proposal for improved Purchasing
• Prepare construction budgets & labour profiles prior to tender handover

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• An Analytical thinker
• Interested in the detail
• Self-motivated
• An excellent communicator both written and verbal
• Electrical background
