Job Description

You will act as part of the national Portfolio Management Office’s ‘Benefits, Outcomes and Performance’ team. You will provide insights and analysis to governance boards and key stakeholders on the progress of the Environment Agency’s Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Investment Portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Monitor performance of the portfolio against key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Analyse portfolio data from a wide variety of sources and systems to understand portfolio performance and highlight key risks and issues.
  • Develop engaging and informative charts and visuals that are audience-appropriate and follow data visualisation best practice.
  • Present insights and evidence to governance boards to enable informed decision making.
  • Lead, engage, and collaborate with local portfolio teams across the business to develop new processes, business intelligence reports, and ensure data is well-managed.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, innovation, and development of the team’s capabilities.
  • Respond to policy changes and develop and or adapt business processes.

The team

Experience / Skills Required

Essential:

  • Proficient in data analysis (cleaning, processing, and visualising data)
  • Proficient in using data to tell a story and inform decision-making
  • Able to manage yourself and deliver; highly motivated, organised, resilient
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a changing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Desirable:

  • An awareness of project and/or programme management principles and methods
