We are looking for an enthusiastic person with previous customer service experience to join our friendly and hardworking GP Surgery team based in West Bridgford, Nottingham.
The role includes front of house reception duties, answering telephone calls and providing support to the wider Practice team when required. Training will be provided in prescription request management for the right candidate.
Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Excellent communication skills, both on the telephone and face to face
- Ability to use word, excel and computer systems
- Enthusiasm to undertake a variety of tasks
- Able to prioritise tasks and organise their workload
- Willing to learn
GP Practice experience is desirable however, training and support will be provided for all aspects of this challenging, yet rewarding, role.
The successful candidate will report to the Practice Manager.
Job responsibilitiesThe role is subject to a three month probationary period.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer and direct phone calls to the appropriate person or department
- Provide general administrative and clerical support
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

Person Specification Qualifications- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- AMSPAR Receptionists Qualification
- Experience of working with the general public
- Experience of administrative duties
- Experience of working wthin a GP Practice and or a health care setting
