About Us

We are Young’s Pubs, operating the Georgian Townhouse in Norwich. With two kitchens and a plan for a third, we host over 70 weddings a year, run three event spaces, serve a large food volume, and operate a 35‑room boutique hotel with an award‑winning beer garden. The role of Head Chef will bring together and nurture a talented kitchen team, deliver innovative daily specials, and inspire consistent, high‑quality food.

What We Look For In A Head Chef
  • Experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef driving excellent service through quality food
  • Passion for leading, developing and inspiring a team
  • Hands‑on team player with excellent communication skills
  • Responsibility for kitchen staff rota, training and health & safety compliance
  • Creativity in designing and delivering new dishes for menus and daily specials
  • Strong planning and organisational skills to maintain effective controls of GP and labour
  • Pro‑active approach to driving sales and growth through kitchen‑front of house collaboration
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute menus and specials that showcase local, seasonal produce and reflect the business’s food vision; manage kitchen staff schedules and training; ensure health & safety compliance; drive cost control and budgeting; lead the kitchen during events and busy periods; collaborate with front‑of‑house teams to enhance guest experience.

Key Qualifications

Proven culinary leadership experience, strong menu development skills, knowledge of food safety and cost management, excellent communication, strong organisational and budgeting skills, and a track record of driving growth through creativity.
