A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a driven and experienced Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to join a highly reputable state‑of‑the‑art private eye clinic based in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity for a Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to join their thriving theatre team permanently. The clinic is high performing and expanding and within the role, you will be exposed to a wide range of specialities.
The service practices some of the most advanced treatments, offering a range of surgical procedures in specialist fields within Ophthalmology. This is a great opportunity for a Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to expand on their skills in assisting patients undergoing procedures including cataract surgery in a fast‑paced environment.
Duties and responsibilities
You will be working as a Theatre Nurse / Practitioner and will be responsible for:
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced and high‑volume clinical setting
- Prepare patients for surgery
- Take them through the journey and reassure patients throughout
- Caring for patients after surgery, recovering from sedation
- Review patient charts and confirm data
- Ensure medical equipment is prepared for surgery
- Follow surgeons’ directions and pass medical equipment
- Medicine Management and Audits
Who we’re looking for
- Be NMC / HCPC registered – your pin must not have any restrictions or conditions
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK without sponsorship
- At least 1 year experience working in theatres in the UK
- Ophthalmic / optometry / ophthalmology experience highly desirable
- Interest in development and progression – this role offers the opportunity to complete the surgical assist course
