Join Norwich Theatre as Assistant Director of Development and Fundraising and lead the income generation strategy at one of the UK's most prominent independent theatres.
Job DescriptionThe Assistant Director of Development and Fundraising will lead the creation and delivery of an ambitious, sustainable fundraising strategy that supports Norwich Theatre's artistic programme and charitable objectives. This is a senior leadership role, sitting within our Assistant Director cohort and contributing to the organisation's wider strategic direction. The income generated through this role directly enables Norwich Theatre to subsidise non-commercial programming, invest in artist development, expand community impact and deliver capital ambitions.
Job RequirementsWe are looking for an experienced fundraising leader who can think strategically, deliver practically and build relationships that last. You will be comfortable working across multiple income streams and confident representing Norwich Theatre at a senior level with donors, trustees and external partners.
Job ResponsibilitiesYou will bring:
- A proven track record of securing significant income from a range of sources, including individuals, trusts and foundations and corporate partners.
- Experience in individual philanthropy, ideally within the cultural or social impact sectors.
- The ability to build development plans and pipelines that connect to wider organisational planning.
- A strong understanding of the UK fundraising marketplace, including relevant legislation and regulation.
- Experience leading and developing a team, with the confidence to set clear goals and support others to meet them.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop compelling cases for support.
- A commitment to Norwich Theatre's values and a genuine interest in the role the arts play in communities.
