Development Manager – University of East Anglia
Join the Vice‑Chancellor’s Office and the Development, Alumni and Campaigns Office as a Development Manager (). The role focuses on securing major gifts that make a lasting difference to our fundraising campaign, Dare to Do Different.
About the roleAs a full‑time Development Manager, you will personally manage a portfolio of major donor prospects, cultivating, soliciting and managing relationships to secure significant donations towards our themes of Climate, Health, Creative and Campus.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree or have equivalent qualifications and experience, have excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in fundraising or relationship management.
This position is available on an indefinite basis and offers a range of flexible working options, including annualised hours, compressed work days, part‑time, job share, term‑time only and/or hybrid arrangements.
Key responsibilities- Professional relationship building with individuals to secure major gifts.
- Managing a portfolio of prospective donors and maintaining regular face‑to‑face meetings.
- Soliciting and securing significant donations towards university themes.
- Reporting on progress and contributing to strategy for the £100m fundraising campaign.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications/experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A strong track record in fundraising, donation management or relationship management.
- Experience working with individual donors, preferably in philanthropy.
Starting salary from £38,784 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £46,049 per annum.
Working conditions & benefitsFull‑time, indefinite contract. Flexibility options: annualised hours, compressed working hours, part‑time, job share, term‑time only, hybrid.
Benefits include 44 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank Holidays and additional University Customary days – pro rata for part‑time).
