Position: Kitchen Assistant (Cleaning ) 4 hours per week

Overview

Kitchen Assistant (Cleaning)
4 hours per week, Friday 11am - 3pm, 38 weeks per year (term time)
£2,177 per annum

Come and join an elite team at City College Norwich. You will support the lecturers in charge by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality of resources, through correct cleaning practices within the workshops and kitchens. You will comply with Health and Safety and Hygiene regulations, assisting students in enhancing their environment by ensuring correct cleaning procedures are implemented for clearing down their area, as well as assisting with general washing up, cleaning and the maintenance of laundry where required.

You will work independently and as part of a team, using your initiative; you should be flexible, adaptable and proactive in supporting the needs of the area. You will have good communication skills and a clear understanding of meeting a range of student needs, with the ability to work with a range of staff in line with our College Ways of Working.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and quality of resources in workshops and kitchens.
  • Follow correct cleaning procedures for clearing down areas and assist with general washing up and laundry where appropriate.
  • Work independently and as part of a team; adapt to the needs of the area and communicate effectively with staff and students.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Good communication skills and ability to meet a range of student needs.
  • Ability to work with a range of staff in alignment with the College Way of Working.
  • Compliance with Health and Safety and Hygiene regulations; willingness to undertake DBS checks as part of safer recruitment requirements.
Administrative Details
  • Closing date:
    Friday 30th January at midday (subject to change if warranted by interest).
  • All staff are required to undertake relevant Safer Recruitment checks including enhanced Adult and Child DBS Check and DBS Update Service registration; a new DBS check will be required.
