Information Governance Assurance Manager - NHS

Duration: 3 months assignment with probability to extend

Location:

Norwich/Norfolk (occasional travel across Trust sites required)

Exciting and impactful role within NHS! We are seeking an experienced Information Governance/Assurance Manager to provide senior leadership and expert assurance across information governance, data protection and digital risk management.

As an Information Governance Assurance Manager you will play a key role in assurance, risk management, breach response and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for ensuring the NHS Trust’s information governance framework is robust, compliant and fit for purpose, supporting digital transformation, data sharing and new technologies while protecting patient and organisational data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and assure the Trust’s information governance and data protection framework.
  • Provide expert advice on GDPR, DSPT, DPIAs and national IG standards.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives with privacy by design and default.
  • Lead DSPT assessments, audits and improvement plans.
  • Investigate and manage information governance incidents and data breaches.
  • Maintain Information Governance risk registers, records of processing and ICO compliance.
  • Deliver Information Governance training, awareness and stakeholder engagement.
  • Deputise for the Trust Data Protection Officer when required.
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong expertise in Information Governance and UK data protection law.
  • Proven experience leading Information Governance assurance, risk and compliance activities.
  • Deep understanding of DSPT and national Information Governance frameworks.
  • Confident communicator comfortable discussing Information Governance with senior and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel across Trust sites as needed.
  • Previous experience working in the NHS, or similar complex environment.
