Join Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 7 Ward Manager/Team Leader in our Midwifery Led Birthing Unit (MLBU). The role is part‑time with flexible working hours and offers a competitive salary range of £47,810–£54,710 per annum.
Job SummaryLead and manage the MLBU, ensuring high‑quality, safe, and compassionate maternity care. Provide direct patient care, support the implementation of Care Group service plans, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement across the intrapartum service.
Main Duties- Provide professional leadership and operational management within the MLBU.
- Accountable for the standards of care, supporting and implementing practice.
- Deliver direct patient care, demonstrating advanced mid‑wifery knowledge and expertise.
- Act as a role model and resource for the clinical team.
- Champion the NNUH PRIDE values and an inclusive culture.
Essential Qualifications
- Registered Midwife.
- Degree level (or working towards a relevant degree) or equivalent experience.
- Practice Assessor or equivalent mentoring qualification.
- Significant post‑registration Band 6 experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective change‑management and leadership abilities.
Demonstrated role‑model behaviour aligned with NNUH PRIDE values.
Desirable Qualifications
- Management qualification or evidence of management development.
