Bank vacancies for qualified Registered Nurses on the Inpatient Children's Ward, Buxton Ward and the Children's Assessment Unit (CAU) at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Working for our Nurse Bank provides flexibility and variety across wards and departments in a hospital environment that includes Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital services (Inpatient, Ambulatory, Emergency, Neonatal and Outpatient care) across a broad range of paediatric specialties.
The role supports care for children and young people across paediatric medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, ENT, plastics and more, with a dedicated surgical and medical HDU. The Children’s Assessment Unit is open 24/7 and the Children’s Day Ward is open Monday to Friday.

- Work with all members of the Ward/Department clinical team within the multi-disciplinary framework.
- Maintain a high standard of patient care under the direction of the Ward/Department Sister/Charge Nurse.
- Act as a leader in the clinical area in the absence of a more senior member of staff.
- Work in accordance with the principles laid down by the Nursing/Midwifery professional bodies and Trust Policies.
Essential
- Qualifications/training and professional development:
Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC Register - Completion of a preceptorship programme or significant demonstrable experience
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Experience:
Nursing in an acute hospital environment within the last 12 months as an NMC registrant - Skills, abilities and knowledge:
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills;
Ability to maintain high standards of care - Attitude, aptitude:
Effective role model, demonstrating NNUH’s PRIDE values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence;
Demonstrates understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Desirable
- Post registration qualification relevant to the clinical area
- Knowledge/experience of relevant speciality
- Experience of managing/leading a team and co-ordinating workload
- Competency in clinical skills relevant to an acute Trust
