Management Accountant

We are partnering with a long-established organisation that operates across several locations and is looking to add a Management Accountant to its finance function on a maternity cover basis.

This position would suit someone who enjoys collaborating with operational teams, translating financial data into meaningful insights, and supporting stakeholders in understanding business performance. The role provides a varied mix of management reporting, forecasting, and business partnering, giving you the opportunity to contribute to decision-making across different areas of the business.

You will join a collaborative and supportive finance team and gain exposure to a broad range of financial processes, systems, and internal stakeholders. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone keen to further develop their management accounting skills within a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Preparing monthly management accounts for several business units, including detailed commentary and analysis against budget and forecast.

* Partnering with operational teams to review financial performance and explain key variances.

* Assisting with the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle, including the collection, review, and consolidation of financial information.

* Completing monthly VAT returns and ensuring compliance with current HM Revenue & Customs guidance.

* Supporting the preparation of financial information required for regulatory and statutory reporting.

* Assisting with both internal and external audit processes, including the preparation of reconciliations and supporting documentation.

* Building a strong understanding of internal finance systems and contributing to improvements in reporting and processes where possible
