Temporary Finance Manager

Location: Outskirts of Norwich
Contract: Temporary (3 months, with potential extension)
Hours: Full-time
Start: As soon as possible
Salary: Full time equivalent salary of £50,000 - £55,000

Reed Finance are seeking an experienced Temporary Finance Manager to support a busy manufacturing operation located just outside Norwich. This role will take ownership of day-to-day financial management, month-end processes, reporting, and providing commercial insight to support operational decision-making. It is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and can quickly add value during a period of transition.

• Lead daily finance operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial control
• Oversee month-end and year-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
• Produce management accounts, cashflow forecasting, and variance analysis
• Partner closely with production, operations, and supply chain to analyse costs, efficiency, and performance
• Intercompany and multi-currency transactions
• Manage budgeting and forecasting cycles
• Oversee payroll processing (if required) and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations
• Support continuous improvement of financial procedures, systems, and reporting
• Liaise with external auditors, banks, and stakeholders as necessary
• Provide leadership and mentoring to small finance team members during the assignment

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or QBE with strong manufacturing experience
• Proven background as a Finance Manager or senior financial professional within an SME or manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, stock, BOMs, and margin analysis
• Confident with ERP/manufacturing finance systems and Excel
• Ability to work autonomously and quickly adapt in a fast-moving environment
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with non-finance teams
• Proactive, pragmatic, and able to deliver improvements during a fixed-term period
