From preparing the business case and advising on related issues – such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation – to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.

Are you a dynamic, experienced civil or utilities engineer working in the infrastructure sector who wants to join an employee‑owned company that is passionate about creating the best outcomes for our clients and communities? We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to lead our utilities capability with a track record of contributing to the successful delivery of complex multi‑disciplinary infrastructure and highways projects from scheme development through to Design and Build.
You will play a significant role in delivering great projects for our clients that align to our purpose of creating positive social outcomes.
- Managing utility design/diversion as part of highway & public transport infrastructure Madhair
- Promoting and ensuring adherence to our health and safety policy and procedures
- Maintaining a general knowledge of technical engineering codes and in particular NRSWA, HAUC and NJUG
- Compliance in accordance with the various utility companies’ standard requirements
- Managing discrete design packages and multi‑disciplinary design teams and client facing activities
- Identifying bespoke engineering solutions to reduce the scope of utility diversions, driving efficiencies and cost savings
- Providing Utility Peer review for major infrastructure schemes
- Providing support to build amplia a network of clients and undertake business development activities
- Showing technical leadership and providing technical expertise and advice
- Assisting in the training and development of team members
- Controlling task programme and budgets
- Presenting technical advice to clients and stakeholders
- Providing input into bids/tenders where utilities present a major risk to project delivery
- Mentoring early career staff
- Degree in Civil Engineering or alternative qualification (HNC / HND) in a relevant subject gil
- Professional membership in the highways sector e.g. Institution of Civil Engineers, MCIHT etc
- Experience applying CDM requirements in the role of Designer and thorough understanding of health, safety, wellbeing and EDI matters and proven ability to positively influence behaviours
- In depth knowledge of NRSWA with the ability to manage delivery of utility diversions from C2 to C9 process
- Experience with identifying, managing and resolving multi‑disciplinary interfaces on major projects, from assessing feasibility, through to concept and detailed design and into constructionloos
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civils 3D titulares
- Ability to deliver to demanding schedules and targets
- Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate staff and maintain accurate records; willingness to travel assignments in the UK or overseas
- Experience of engineering forms of contract (e.g. NEC3 and
4) - Experience in the use of Navisworks;
