Proposals Engineer

Overview

Proeon Systems Ltd part of the RSK Group is a specialist systems integrator supplying control and safety solutions for complex and critical applications across oil & gas, renewable, hydrogen, nuclear and utility sectors. We are now hiring for a Proposals Engineer ideally with an Automation background to provide technical sales support through the development of priced proposal solutions for new business opportunities generated by the Commercial teams and support the closure of these proposals by meeting technical and financial challenges.

This is a full time role and office based in Norwich.

• To prepare bids, tenders and technical solutions supported by the engineering team as appropriate
• Establish and maintain relationships with customers, partner organisations and supply chain
• Liaison with the Engineering team to establish and promote best fit proposals
• Support the gathering of intelligence on customers and competitors and support the assessment of market opportunities and target market
• To travel when required to do so throughout the UK and overseas

• Technical/Engineering capability in a PLC based Automation and control background with an Engineering HND/Degree or comparable experience
• Ability to interpret client’s requirements and realise them into control system offerings, typically based around common PLC platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, et al)
• Have a demonstrable understanding of business and commercial operations
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Excellent planning; organisation and problem-solving skills

• Previous experience in Automation and Control for Hazardous Area, Functional Safety and Fire & Gas Systems in a customer facing role within a control system’s integrator for the energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, nuclear, utility or power generation industry
• Experience of CRM based software an advantage
