Overview

Mental Health Adviser — 37 hours per week, term time 40 weeks
Salary: £27,694 - £29,556 per annum pro rata
Fixed term until 31 July 2027

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist mental health support for students, with recent experience in youth mental health, ideally in an education setting or with experience of teaching young people under the age of 25.
  • Collaborate with internal and external professionals to support students, including attending multi-agency planning meetings with agencies such as CAMHS to devise and implement action plans to help learners access their education.
  • Work with colleagues to liaise on Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and take a leading role in multi-agency partnerships.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, including coordination, attention to detail and robust record keeping; some evening work may be required.
  • Engage with prospective candidates and provide information about the role as requested (informal chats and enquiries).
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience of youth mental health, preferably in an education setting or with teaching experience for people under 25.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience with EHCPs.
  • Ability to work effectively with multi-agency teams and partners.
  • Strong organisational, coordination and record-keeping abilities; willingness to work some evenings.
