Assistant Quantity Surveyor – £24m Distribution Centre, Norwich

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team for a £24m distribution centre project in Norwich. You will support the Senior QS in managing the commercial aspects of this high‑profile project and gain experience across the full project lifecycle.

Our client is a Tier One construction delivery partner working with major developers, occupiers, retailers, and logistics businesses. They specialise in projects from concept to completion, including new‑builds, fit‑outs, expansions, renovations, and reconfigurations, primarily within industrial, logistics, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, data centres, and ports, with occasional exposure to commercial, retail, hotels, and education projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with commercial management and reporting across the project lifecycle
  • Support in subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payment processes
  • Maintain accurate site records and documentation
  • Prepare cost projections for labour, plant, materials, and resources
  • Assist with forecasting and reporting alongside the QS team
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and capture design changes
  • Support Senior QS in stakeholder meetings and project coordination
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree, HND, or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • Some experience or placement exposure in construction projects, ideally industrial or commercial
  • Good numerical, technical, and reporting skills
  • Strong communication and organisation abilities
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment
