The RoleWe are seeking an Assistant Depot Manager to support operations at our Norwich, CT depot. This role combines route delivery, operations support, and brand ambassador responsibilities, serving as a key right-hand to the Depot Manager.
On routing days, you’ll ensure timely and accurate ice cream deliveries. On non‑routing days, you’ll focus on brand ambassador duties such as ride behinds, quality checks, and supporting depot operations to maintain service excellence. Key Responsibilities Operations & Leadership Support- Assist the Depot Manager with day‑to‑day operations, including route coordination, inventory management, and staff scheduling.
- Perform brand ambassador functions, including ride behinds to evaluate service quality and product checks to ensure Mini Melts standards are met.
- Act as a key point of contact for staff and customers when the Depot Manager is unavailable.
- Support the onboarding and training of new drivers to ensure safety, service, and compliance standards are upheld.
- Perform occasional route deliveries, ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Lead setup and execution of seasonal retail outlets, fairs, festivals, and special events.
- Manage logistics, product transport, and on‑site staffing for retail events.
- Recruit, train, and supervise seasonal team members.
- Identify new event and retail opportunities to grow the Mini Melts brand.
- Use company software for route tracking, scheduling, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, quality checks, and operational reports.
- Perform basic computer tasks (Excel, Google Sheets, and mobile route software).
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work a flexible schedule (≈ 50 hours/week)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, mobile route software)
- Must pass pre‑employment physical, background check, and drug test
- Serv Safe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days — company-supported)
