Location:
Backus Hospital (10309). Shift: 24 hours/week - 11pm to 7am, including every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Under the supervision of a Nurse Leader, the Patient Care Tech is responsible for performing specific duties that support patient care, including direct and indirect activities essential to providing a safe and efficient care environment. This position performs selected interventions and activities that contribute to providing comprehensive care to patients in accordance with all regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
In addition, along with the care team, this position is responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience.
This role works in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities and requires scheduling flexibility. Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder for Patient Care Techs based on experience, skillsets, and certifications held.
Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect patient care duties as assigned under the supervision of a Nurse Leader.
- Contribute to a safe and efficient care environment by adhering to regulatory and hospital standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Adapt to a high-activity work environment with multiple priorities and rotating shifts.
- Pursue career advancement opportunities through the PCT clinical ladder based on experience, skills, and certifications.
- No experience required; on-site training provided.
- Successful completion of PCT-specific Hartford Health Care orientation.
- Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 60 days of hire or job transfer date.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Some relevant experience in an acute care hospital environment.
- Current certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Certification as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT or CMA to be eligible for advancement in the PCT clinical ladder.
