Under the direction of a Radiologist and the director, performs MRI procedures. Works collaboratively with members of the Imaging Services team and other departments throughout the facility to provide safe, quality care.
Part-time, PRN hours.
Responsibilities- Performs MRI procedures in the safest manner possible; reviews orders and verifies information to ensure the correct procedure for the associated diagnosis.
- Annotates/labels images properly, including proper patient identification.
- Completes procedures according to protocol, obtains thorough history to include implant investigation as needed, and coordinates procedures with various departments throughout the facility.
- Obtains IV access and administers contrast media or other imaging agents as required, after an appropriate history is obtained.
- Demonstrates proficiency with EMR and PACS, including proper documentation and charging.
- Maintains procedure room for optimal efficiency: stocking supplies, disinfecting equipment, and disposing of soiled linen and waste following hospital policy and/or manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Keeps equipment in proper working order and contacts service engineer as needed; follows appropriate downtime procedure when equipment is not working.
- Follows ODH and other regulatory guidelines.
- Continuously displays a “can do” attitude within the department and across departmental lines.
- Works effectively as part of the departmental team to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives: attends and participates in committee meetings as required, utilizes automated systems to communicate, accepts and completes work assignments, and reports to work on time, ready to work as scheduled.
- Performs general clerical duties accurately.
- On call as assigned.
