The State of Connecticut, Department of Developmental Services (DDS) – West Region – is currently accepting applications for one (1) full‑time Supervising Developmental Services Worker 1 (Grounds Supervisor) position located at the Lower Fairfield Center in Norwalk, CT.

Schedule:

Sunday 11:00 pm – 6:00 am;
Monday 11:00 pm – 6:00 am;
Tuesday 11:00 pm – 6:00 am;
Wednesday 11:00 pm – 6:00 am;
Thursday 11:00 pm – 6:00 am
Regular days off:
Friday, Saturday

Responsibilities

In your role as a Supervising Developmental Services Worker 1, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Coordinate and supervise or assist in supervision of a residential living program including assigning work and evaluating staff performance;
  • Assist in development of policies, programs and operational procedures;
  • Direct implementation of policies, programs and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations and needs of individuals;
  • Arrange for fire drills and safety inspections;
  • Supervise staff by directing and advising them on work, reviewing reports and conferring with them on daily operational, disciplinary and special programs;
  • Arrange for and coordinate provision for appropriate supportive care services such as housekeeping, dietary, maintenance and laundry;
  • Secure and distribute supplies and equipment for teaching strategies and individuals personal needs;
  • Arrange for individual transportation;
  • Monitor individual fund spending;
  • Assist in unit response to surveys and inspections;
  • Other duties as assigned.
