Registered OR RN - Night Shift

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care guided by the American Nurses Association (ANA) scope of practice and collaborates with patients, family, peers, physicians, and the healthcare team. The RN assesses patient needs, implements care plans, evaluates data, and ensures compliance with hospital policies.
Responsibilities- Completes patient assessment and reassessment as clinically indicated.
- Documents detailed information incorporating the plan of care, interventions, and outcomes reflecting the patient’s physical, mental, and emotional status.
- Ensures appropriate documentation based on the level of care, including transfer/discharge files.
- Followsанта пут rights of medication administration and documents response per hospital policy.
- Coordinates and supervises the delivery of nursing care, including delegating tasks:
- Maintains accountability for care delegated.
- Promotes a culture of safety:
- Assesses patients for safety risks.
- Initiates interventions related to identified risk factors.
- Conducts bedside shift reports and rounds with peers.
- Demonstrates quality by documenting the nursing process ethically.
- Ensures proper patient hand‑off during breaks.
- Assesses learning needs of patient/family and plans instruction using appropriate methods.
- Cares for specific patient populations as necessary.
- Delivers patient‑centered care by embracing diversity, respecting dignity, and maintaining open communication.
- Meets accreditation, regulatory, and compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Promotes a culture of learning and growth:
- Seeks formal or independent learning activities to develop clinical skills.
- Mentors others to succeed.
- Performs inutil duties as assigned within the state nursing scope of practice.
Associate’s Level (DGRE) required.
Other Information- Current and unobstructedermi New York State Registered Nurse (NY Hospitals) license.
- Current and unobstructedermi Connecticut Registered Nurse License (CT Hospitals).
- New graduates awaiting licensure (CT only).
- American Nurses Association endorsed Certifications or Academy of Medical‑Surgical Nurses Certification preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required upon hire.
- Specialty unit certifications – required or preferred as indicated by unit (e.g., ICU, ED, OR). ऐ
- Additional training within 1 year: PALS, NRP, EFM, TNCC, ENPC, CPI, S.T.A.B.L.E., Chemotherapy Certification, etc.

- Manual handling: significant manual skills, motor coordination, finger dexterity.
- Occupational risk: some occupational hazards.
- Physical effort: medium to heavy effort, may exert up to 35 lbs. force.
- Environment: exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste.
