Overview

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Needed for Full time, Per Diem or Contract at a Skilled Nursing Facility in Norwalk, CT.

Responsibilities
  • Provides clinical services as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to appropriate residents under physician's orders.
  • Reports to the Physical Therapist information relating to the patients progress, complication, and/or response to treatment.
  • Assist Physical Therapist in performing procedures, test, and complex treatments to ensure the safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients.
  • Assumes responsibility for continued professional growth and development, by participating in continuing education programs, and other appropriate learning experiences.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patients, facility, and physician-related information.
  • Maintains accurate billing information in accordance with procedures daily.
  • Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team.
  • Attends and participates in family meetings as appropriate.
  • Adheres to documentation requirements of Rehabilitation department and the facility.
  • Conducts staff training/education as appropriate via formal and informal in-services and consultations.
  • Reviews and follows the policies and procedures outlined by the facility and Rehab Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Supervises non-professional staff as appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Valid CT Physical Therapy Assistant License
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance with state and federal regulations related to environment of treatment.
  • Good organization skills
