Psychiatric Technician (part time) - Day/Eve
Shift: 7am-3:30pm and 3pm-11:30pm

Summary: Provides nursing care to a patient or group of patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. Leads groups & activities with patients.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care Criteria A:
Provides patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse. Prioritizes assignments and provides education related to scope of practice. - Communication Criteria A:
Communicates with patients, visitors, and coworkers within the scope of responsibilities; conveys mental status info; documents accurately. - Documentation of Mental Status and Behaviors Criteria A:
Admission intake documents consent, rights, orientation; vital signs; and other required data. - Use of Restraints Criteria A:
Knowledge of appropriate use of restraints; proper care of restrained patients; annual demonstration. - Maintenance of a therapeutic milieu and safety on a Behavioral Health unit Criteria A:
Sets limits on patient behaviors, de‑escalates potential violence; conducts contraband searches respecting rights; ensures confidentiality; assesses environment for safety. - Group leadership Criteria:
Leads and documents group activities. - Patient rights & education Criteria:
Knowledge of patient rights; confirms patient awareness; provides comprehensive education. - Performs other duties as assigned; fulfills all compliance responsibilities.
Other Information:
- One year of work experience with psychiatric population preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- BLS/CPR required within 90 days of start date or during orientation.
- CPI or other de‑escalation technique training within 6 months of hire.
Salary Range: $17.00 – $31.36 per hour
