Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Our client, a family-owned heating oil and propane company, is seeking a hands‑on Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and lender compliance in a fast‑paced environment. Reporting to the company’s President, this position will manage all accounting and finance functions, along with additional business responsibilities such as banking relationships, lease renewals/negotiations, and special projects.

• Manage monthly and annual close processes and prepare GAAP‑compliant financial statements
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and account reconciliations
• Monitor revenue recognition, costing, and margin analysis
• Coordinate with external CPA firm for financial review and tax matters
• Supervise staff and enhance accounting processes and controls

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 7+ years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and proficiency in Excel
• Ability to independently lead the accounting function
