Trading Operations Specialist – Connecticut / New York, USA

Introduction

A global investment management firm is seeking a Trading Operations Specialist to join their team. This role is central to the trade lifecycle and involves close collaboration with Trading, Fund Accounting, Technology, and Risk departments. The focus is primarily on Global Credit strategies, specifically credit derivatives and bank loans, within a fast-paced investment environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full trade lifecycle across various asset classes, with a specialized focus on credit derivatives and bank loans.
  • Support essential operations including swap resets, trade bookings, corporate action processing, and P&L inquiries.
  • Conduct daily reconciliations between internal Portfolio Management Systems (PMS) and fund administrators.
  • Oversee operational workflows for bank debt, covering both cash and swap loans.
  • Manage Clear Par timelines and coordinate loan closings within the platform.
  • Set up and maintain detailed loan activity (PIKs, paydowns) in systems like Enfusion.
  • Review transaction, position, and cash reconciliations for Total Return Swaps (TRS) and loan products.
  • Identify process gaps and collaborate cross-functionally to design and implement workflow improvements.
  • Perform thorough due diligence to resolve issues promptly, mitigating financial and reputational risk.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of experience in Trading Operations or a closely related financial function.
  • Hands-on exposure to bank loans and complex credit instruments.
  • Proficiency with industry systems such as Geneva, Enfusion, Clear Par, or WSO is preferred.
  • Bachelors degree is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • A self-starter capable of operating independently in a high-pressure environment.
  • Solid understanding of reconciliation processes and the broader trade lifecycle.

What is Offered

  • Highly competitive total compensation package.
  • Exposure to sophisticated credit strategies on a global investment platform.
  • High level of cross-functional interaction with key stakeholders in Trading, Risk, and Finance.
  • Opportunity to significantly influence and shape operational processes.
  • Dynamic, performance-driven environment with clear long-term growth potential.

This position is ideal for an experienced operations professional looking to advance their career within a prestigious global investment firm.
