Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Based in Norwalk, Connecticut, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a non-profit organization's financial operations. The position involves a combination of remote and in-office work, allowing flexibility while ensuring collaboration with the finance team.

Responsibilities:

- Reconcile revenue contributions between Donor Perfect and Sage Intacct, investigating and resolving discrepancies.

- Prepare and finalize monthly bank account reconciliations, addressing any outstanding items.

- Support audit processes by gathering required documentation and preparing schedules and reconciliations.

- Handle month-end closing tasks, including recurring journal entries, financial statement reconciliations, and reporting activities.

- Assist the Controller with general accounting duties, special projects, and ad hoc financial analyses as needed. Requirements - Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries.

- Strong experience working with general ledger systems.

- Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and practices.

- Ability to perform detailed bank reconciliations accurately.

- Familiarity with month-end closing procedures and reporting.

- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
