As a member of the Technology team, the primary focus of the Academic Technologist and System Support Specialist will be to serve as a liaison between academic and technology initiatives, implementing innovative technology solutions that enhance the learning and teaching experience for students and teachers. This individual will also collaborate closely with both the Technology and Academic departments to support the School’s operational and instructional goals related to technology and provide support for all end-users.
All members of the Technology team support department initiatives, are customer service-oriented, communicative, reliable, and take initiative to set up all members of the community for success. In all ways, the goal is to ensure that the community experience, as well as the culture, support, services, and infrastructure we provide work in concert to fulfill the mission and values of the School.

The ideal candidate has a history of teaching and a strong love of learning, a desire to work in a boarding school environment, is a team player, and has the curiosity to dive in and solve problems.

Key Responsibilities:

    Facilitate workshops and one-on-one coaching to help faculty integrate instructional technology effectively into their curriculum. Design and lead training sessions focused on the ethical and effective use of artificial intelligence in teaching, research, and administrative work. Develop and implement technology-based solutions to support educational programs and initiatives. Collaborate with faculty members, including department heads, academic dean, associate dean of faculty, and director of learning services, to identify areas where technology can be leveraged to improve student outcomes.

    Research and recommend emerging educational technologies aligned with the school’s educational mission and priorities, strategic iniatives, and current and future pedagogy. Lead the deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of classroom technology and digital tools. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.
Shared Support Specialist Responsibilities:
    Participate in the planning and delivery of technology-driven training sessions for employees and students.

    Provide first-level technical and audiovisual support to end users across campus with both Mac and Windows operating systems. Manage and utilize helpdesk systems and workflows to document and track customer service. Collaborate, brainstorm, and share best practices within the department and community. Attend and participate in technology department and other relevant community meetings. Engage in professional development that supports school, department, and personal goals;

    take initiative to make things better. Provide backup support to departmental staff as required. Flexibility to work an occasional evening or weekend as needed for events. Any other assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional or Educational Technology, or a related field preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience as a classroom teacher effectively integrating technology, or equivalent experience in training educators in educational software and systems.
