Position: Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program 2026
The Summer Youth Employment Program, administered by the Mayor's Office provides jobs for the young people, ages 14-18, so they can learn to navigate in a business environment, contribute to the community, gain life skills, explore a specific profession and earn money. Hourly Rate: $16.94

To be considered for Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program, the applicant must:

* Be at least 14 years old as of April 1, 2026;

* Not be older than 18 years old as of July 1, 2026;

* Be a Norwalk resident.

* Have a valid Social Security Number in order to participate and ensure proper payroll   process.

I. JOB INTRODUCTION

* The SYEP is a competitive program and is NOT done on a first come first serve basis.

* The position pays $16.94 an hour.

* Program begins in July and runs through August.

* Interviews will take place in April/May 2026. You will receive information by e-mail about the time and location of your interview.

* If selected, all new participants are required to participate in a mandatory week-long Job Etiquette Training in June.

II. HOW DO I APPLY
