Reports to:
Human Resources Director. Salary Range: $21 - $24 hourly. Status:
Full-Time – Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Travel:

Position Summary:
Based in our Norwalk office, the Human Resources & Safety Administrative Assistant supports the HR Team and Safety & Training Team in managing and executing core HR and Safety functions. This is an entry-to-mid-level role designed for someone who wants to master administrative tasks in employee relations, benefits, and safety compliance while working within a supportive, 100% employee-owned company.

- Safety Audits & Compliance: Learning how to conduct internal audits to ensure workplace safety.
- DOT Compliance: Understanding Department of Transportation regulations and record-keeping.

Skills:
Mastering the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) at a professional corporate level.
- Recruitment & Staffing: Record and transcribe interview notes. Maintain the ATS (Applicant Tracking System). Prepare HR documents and new hire packets. Coordinate new employee onboarding.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a secondary contact for employees. Learn and communicate basic knowledge of company used software, company benefits, and HR procedures.
- Document Administration & Record Keeping: Maintain current files and request new documentation. Act as a "second pair of eyes" for HR Generalists and Safety Specialists to ensure audit readiness for Southern CA offices.
- Calendar Management: Take ownership of team calendars, tracking trainees and trainers, and assist in payroll reporting.
- Safety Documentation: Collect and review Accident & Incident reporting documentation for completeness before submission to the reporting team.
- Compliance Administration: Help drivers stay aware of compliance deadlines (licenses/certifications). Ensure timely responses to rack requests and safety requirements.
- Special Projects: Participate in or lead HR and Safety-related projects as assigned.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. (Continuing education is a plus).
- Experience: 1–2 years of general administrative experience. We value a strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitude over specific industry experience.
