The Picker-Packer Lead plays a critical hands-on leadership role within our Distribution team. This position is responsible for leading day-to-day picking and packing operations while setting the pace, quality standards, and tone for the team. The Picker-Packer Lead works closely with the Shipping/Receiving Lead and Fulfillment Lead, all reporting to the same Manager, to ensure orders are accurate, on time, and executed with pride.
This role is ideal for someone who leads from the floor, takes ownership, holds themselves and others accountable, and genuinely cares about doing things the right way, even when no one is watching.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Accountability- Serve as the day-to-day lead for Picker-Packer, setting expectations for pace, accuracy, and teamwork
Lead by example - jumping in, staying engaged, and modeling strong work ethic
- Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and direction to team members
- Hold the team accountable to standard work, quality, attendance, and safety expectations
- Support onboarding and training of new Picker-Packers to fill proficiency
- Oversee daily picking and packing activities to ensure orders are accurate, complete, and shipped on time
- Monitor workflow and help balance labor to meet volume demands
- Assist with complex orders, problem shipments, and priority fulfilment needs
- Ensure proper use of systems and inventory processes
- Identify and elevate inventory discrepancies or recurring issues
- Ensure picking and packing standards are followed consistently
- Perform quality checks to verify orders prior to shipment
- Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and organization
- Encourage team involvement in continuous improvement ideas (the good ones usually come from the floor anyway)
- Promote and enforce 6S initiatives across picking zones to support organization, efficiency, and safety.
- Ensure team members follow safety policies and proper material handling procedures
- Address safety concerns immediately and elevate when needed
- Share knowledge generously and support development of others
- Promote a culture of open communication, continuous learning, and shared responsibility for quality
- Collaborate closely with fellow leads and team members to ensure alignment, smooth handoffs, and operational consistency
- Participate in team building, training, and company-wide initiatives to strengthen engagement and performance
- Model AGS values in day-to-day interactions and decision-making
