Key Responsibilities- Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs based on engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Interpret complex GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications for CMM programming.
- Generate comprehensive inspection reports detailing measurement results and deviations.
- Troubleshoot CMM program errors and machine malfunctions to ensure accurate data collection.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to define measurement strategies and resolve issues.
- Conduct Gage R&R studies and ensure program repeatability and reproducibility.
- Maintain and update CMM software, probe configurations, and measurement routines.
- Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
- Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of metrology principles, measurement techniques, and inspection processes.
- Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CMMs in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners, optical comparators)
- Proficiency in CAD design software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA, NX) beyond model import for programming
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles
- Experience with fixture design and fabrication for CMM applications
- Lean Six Sigma certification or experience
