Position OverviewThe Staff Physical Therapist shall be responsible for providing quality physical therapy services and assisting in departmental operation.
Performance RequirementsResponsible for: The primary responsibility is to organize and render physical therapy services.
Physical DemandsWork is medium and includes lifting and carrying equipment, supplies, and materials up to 50 pounds alone, or over 50 pounds with mechanical assistance or help from others. Tasks involve stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, feeling, and manipulating equipment and patients. Communication skills are necessary to convey instructions and information effectively. Visual acuity is required for reading instructions and perceiving reactions to treatments.
Work is performed indoors.
The therapist must demonstrate the knowledge and manual skills for quality patient care, have a passion for working with people, and motivate patients to achieve optimal performance. Good oral and written communication skills are essential for understanding medical terminology, communicating with staff, patients, and physicians, and preparing reports. Knowledge of statistics and record-keeping is required. Understanding basic management concepts, problem-solving skills, supervision abilities, and professionalism are also necessary.
Qualifications- Education: B.S. degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Experience: One year preferred; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
- Licensing: Must be licensed by the Alabama State of Physical Therapy.
- Additional: COVID vaccination preferred but not mandatory; exemptions considered.
Authorized to perform physical therapy procedures as prescribed by a medical doctor or dentist.
