Maintenance Mechanic

• Performs routine, emergency and preventive maintenance work on office and plant equipment, machines and building facilities.
• Assist in maintaining plant security.
• Maintain equipment and tools.
• Dispose of waste materials, empty containers, and piece drums accordingly.
• Calibrate equipment as needed/required.
• Keep work areas clean.
• Can perform up to 60% of procedures within department.

• Required Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write and do simple arithmetic.
• Working knowledge of mechanics.
• Ability to read blueprints and sketches.
• Knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical wiring, and general mechanics.

• Must be familiar and thoroughly experienced in all facets of maintenance: mechanical, electrical, building and vehicle repairs.
• Mechanical:
  Pumps (positive displacement and centrifugal), drives (gearbox, belt, chain, hydraulic, couplings, motor-electric, motors-air, bearings, shafts, nuts, bolts, taps and dies).
• Electrical:
  High voltage 460-volt 3 phase, motor controls, low voltage (120V power and control wiring), AC and DC systems.
• Computer controlled systems.
• Utilities:
  Piping (water, air and steam), Boilers - understand Steam condensate system - tracing, coils, traps and pumps.
• Air Compressor system - including filters, regulators, dryers and lubricators.
• HVAC - air handling, blowers, dust collectors.
• Vehicles:
  Lift trucks - electric EE rated, battery and hydraulics.
