Crate & Barrel seeks a seasoned engineering leader to oversee multiple software engineering teams, set technical direction, and drive high‑impact delivery aligned with business strategy.

• Lead and manage multiple software engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
• Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for engineering groups, collaborating with product leadership and stakeholders to align priorities and ensure delivery of solutions that meet organizational and product goals.
• Facilitate planning, execution, and timely delivery of complex software solutions, adapting to changing priorities while maintaining high quality.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to prioritize the product backlog and shape requirements within agile processes.
• Champion engineering and agile best practices, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives across teams.
• Mentor software engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and career development opportunities.
• Manage resources and hiring, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
• Drive technical decision‑making to choose robust, scalable architectures.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for engineering quality, productivity, and delivery.
• Communicate strategy, progress, and challenges to senior leadership.

• Strong leadership and organizational management skills, experience managing managers or multiple complex teams.
• Deep understanding of software development processes, agile methodologies, and modern engineering practices at scale.
• Excellent strategic thinking, project management, and execution skills.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop engineers.
• Strong technical acumen to guide architectural decisions and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Experience with resource planning, budget management, and strategic hiring.
• Ability to drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Understanding of cloud technologies, scalable architectures, and Dev Ops principles.
• Strong business awareness and ability to translate business needs into technical strategies.
• Strong understanding of financial implications in decision‑making, ensuring responsible use of company resources.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3–5 years in a management role overseeing multiple teams or a significant engineering function.
• Proven track record of leading and delivering large‑scale, complex software projects in an agile environment.
• Experience managing and developing software engineers.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
