Overview
Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Server for the Sheraton Northbrook, Northbrook, IL, 60062.
Job PurposeUnder general supervision, provides prompt and courteous food service to restaurant customers. Warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance reassure guests they’ve made the right choice to stay with us.
Responsibilities- Greet every guest with a smile and positive attitude
- Prepare and present items, organize and maintain a clean service area, clean tables and area, and follow all health codes
- Ensure that all guests are dealt with in a professional, consistent manner. Ability to diplomatically handle difficult situations and people
- Take guests food and drink orders and ensure that all orders are accurate and brought to each table in a timely manner
- Assist with setting tables and rearranging tables to accommodate larger parties
- Provide a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety programs, department requirements, and job safety analysis
- Maintain and enforce sanitation laws and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen and restaurant area
- Follow all applicable Company Standard Operating Procedures
High School diploma / Secondary qualification or equivalent.
Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards.
Necessary Abilities and Expectations- All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Company Standards
- Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, essential to the successful performance of this position; irregular attendance may lead to disciplinary action up to termination
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs; attendance at scheduled training sessions and meetings is required
- Upon employment, comply with the Company’s rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel facilities; violations may lead to disciplinary action up to termination
- Being passionate about people and service
- Strong communication skills when interacting with guests and employees
- Reading and writing abilities used for paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/information updates
- Basic math skills for handling cash or credit
- Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
Hourly: $16.50
