Registered Nurse (RN) – Citadel Healthcare
Citadel of Northbrook is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our skilled‑nursing team. As an RN you will assume responsibility for a group of residents or a shift of duty, providing nursing care through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan.
Responsibilities- Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physicians and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work area, resident care rooms, and treatment areas.
- Records vital signs and administers catheter care, IV therapy, and respiratory care (e.g., oxygen, nebulizer treatments) within license limitations.
- Charts nursing notes informatively and descriptively, reflecting the care provided and resident response.
- Ensures a safe environment, promptly addressing potential safety risks.
- Monitors and directs non‑licensed ancillary services to meet professional standards.
- Communicates and reports information to residents, families, physicians, guardians, agencies, and facility personnel as required.
- Implements and maintains all aspects of resident care plans, recommending changes to the interdisciplinary team.
- Ensures compliance with infection control standards, correcting non‑compliance immediately.
- Follows company policies on HIPAA compliance.
- Performs any other duties assigned.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Gracious, welcoming customer‑service orientation.
- Ability to multi‑task and remain calm under stress.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, policies, and procedures.
- Adaptability to a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel.
- Positive interaction with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and staff.
- Positive attitude toward working with short‑ and long‑term care residents and the elderly.
- Meets all required health standards.
- Basic computer proficiency; familiarity with Microsoft Office (2000 or newer) and email.
- Registered Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited institution.
- Current RN license in the state.
- One year of experience preferred.
- Long‑term care experience preferred.
- Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, sit extended periods, grasp, and coordinate fine hand movements; use of mechanical devices allowed.
- Adherence to company safety standards; exposure to environmental hazards limited.
- Meets all health requirements.
